VARATHRON is a legendary occult black metal band from Greece since 1988, and is considered as one of the forefathers of the genre, next to Rotting Christ and Necromantia. VARATHON released six full length albums up till now. Stygian Forces of Doom is their fourth full length studio album, originally released in 2009. The majestic Greek black metal album featuring the charismatic vocals of founding father Stefan Necroabyssious. According to a review from 2009: ‘Stygian Forces of Scorn’ is the strongest (if not THE strongest) releases coming from the Hellenic black metal scene in recent years.
