Aborym\u0092s 1999 classic \u0093Kali-Yuga Bizarre\u0094 is the best Black Metal album ever to come out of Italy!<\/p>\n
Aborym\u0092s debut album, \u0093Kali-Yuga Bizarre\u0094, was outdone in intensity only by the band\u0092s subsequent releases. On this one, they are a quintet, comprised of vocalist Yorga, bassist\/effects man Malfeitor Fabban, guitarists Sethlans and Nisrok, and, of course, Attila Csihar, who is most known for his work with Mayhem, and he lends his services to three tracks here.<\/p>\n
There are industrial refrains on this album, namely on track two, \u0093Horrenda Peccata Christ\u0094, but this is pure and true Black Metal. Even the evil ambience of \u0093Hellraiser\u0094 is, despite its prophetic, futuristic overtones, a wicked slab of blasting Black Metal, and the following track, \u0091Roma Divina Urbs\u0092 includes some clean chorus parts that contrast the rest of the album, displaying an anthem Esque, Emperor-like grandness, making it a true gem. The electronic elements are not omnipresent, but succeed in penetrating the wall of noise at precisely the right moments, preventing redundancy.<\/p>\n
\u0093Tantra Bizarre\u0094 is a breakbeat instrumental, and \u0093Come Thou Long Expected Jesus\u0094 is an heretical melding of a somber Roman Catholic hymnal and a provocative spoken-word piece. These non-metal snippets add context and direction to the album as a whole. Next comes \u0093Metal Stricken Terror Action\u0094, a more direct Death\/Thrash assault that flows seamlessly into the symphonic album outro, \u0093The First Four Trumpets\u0094. And, just like that, it\u0092s all over.<\/p>\n
