IRON FLESH – summoning the putrid LP black

With their sophomore incarnation „Summoning The Putrid“ the french bringers of rotten old school death metal Iron Flesh return from the graves to unleash another fine slab of HM2-madness. While maintaining the massive wall of sound by the early 90s scandinavian overlords Iron Flesh is not willing to go down as merely tribute to ancient times. They display an amazingly varied songwriting that reminds a lot of classic Edge Of Sanity magic. Whereas the faster material tend to incorporate sharp melodic riffing that Unanimated or Centinex in their prime could not have done better, Iron Flesh also delivers some of the finest death-doom ever to come out of french soil. The excellent mixture of the heaviness of later Bolt Thrower or Asphyx and the hypnotic and melancholic lead-guitarwork that would make old Paradise Lost proud simply fires on all cylinders. To cut it short: „ Summoning The Putrid“ is nothing short than first class old school death metal anno 2021! Iron Flesh will not stay a secret for long!

Mit ihrem Zweitwerk „Summoning The Putrid“ kehren die französischen Helden des old-school Death-Metals Iron Flesh von den Gräbern zurück um eine weitere feine Platte des HM“-Wahnsinns zu entfesseln. Während sie das massive Soundgewand der früh90er Überväter aus Skandinavien erhalten, sind sie doch nicht gewillt nur als Tribut an einstige Zeiten angesehen zu werden. Iron Flesh zeigen ein erstaunlich abwechslungsreiches Songwriting,welches stark an klassische Edge Of Sanity Magie erinnert. Wohingegen das schnellere Material dazu neigt melodisches Riffing zu intergrieren, das Unanimated oder auch Centinex zu besten Zeiten nicht hätten besser machen können, liefern Iron Flesh auch den feinsten Death-Doom, der je französischen Boden verlassen hat. Die exzellente Mischung aus der Heaviness späterer Bolt Thrower oder Asphyx und der hypnotischen, geradezu melancholischen Lead-Gitarrenarbeit, die alte Paradise Lost mit Stolz erfüllt hätte, ist einfach unschlagbar! Um es kurz zu machen: „Summoning The Putrid“ ist nichts weniger als erstklassiger old school death metal anno 2021! Iron Flesh wird nicht mehr lange ein Geheimnis bleiben!
