Hail one of today’s best thrash metal bands! Dead Head’s 2009 album has been reworked and reissued. Is it underrated? Maybe. Unstoppable? Definitely.

With over 35 years of experience, the Dutch thrash band Dead Head are still driven by an unstoppable force.

The band formed in 1989 when a group of angry teenagers started worshipping bands like Possessed, Sacrifice, Dark Angel and Sadus. Despite the passing of decades, the Dutch veteran thrash band still performs with three-quarters of its original line-up. This is a rarity in today’s metal scene, but for these dedicated Dutchmen, Dead Head has been a lifelong commitment.

In recent years, they have released deluxe reissues of older albums, as well as critically acclaimed new albums such as Swine Plague (2017), Slave Driver (2022), and the mini album Shadow Soul (2024). All of their music is released by Hammerheart, a reputable Dutch label that Dead Head is proud to call home.

‚Repression Tank‘ is a reimagined and revamped version of a previous release. Reimagined and revamped, it now has a sonic palette that is fully on par with more recent Dead Head albums. Featuring fresh drums, new sounds, and excellent mixing and mastering by the renowned Dutch producer Erwin Hermsen, this album delivers relentless speed, irresistible grooves, surprising orchestration, and an unparalleled fierceness.

Disc two contains 14 bonus tracks recorded live during the band’s early years with singer and bass player Ralph de Boer. The material was salvaged from old hard disk recorders and recently mixed by Dead Head’s long-standing live sound engineer, Gerlach Timmer.
